Freya - Chapter 8

It was days after I cast the spell that freed him, and Silvanus was still shocked and overwhelmed by the change, both to himself and to the island.
"Where did it all go? The stone buildings, the monuments, and the land itself? Why, it's less than half the size it used to be! Even the weatherstone is gone!"
"Weatherstone?" I asked, intrigued.
He just shook his head sadly.
"It doesn't matter any more. It's all gone. And just look at me! How can I allow myself to be seen in this state?"
I tried again to tell him I thought his leafy green appearance was amazing, but he was not in a mood to listen.

Freya - Chapter 7

"Oh my, it certainly looks like you could use some help, dearie."
I'm quite sure I was never so glad to see anyone, as I was to see Aunt Aster as she breezed into my nursery a few days after my little wolf girl was born. It had been another sleepless night; her cries of hunger had awakened me every hour.
"Now, let me have a look at your little Atsana. What did you name her?"
"Uh.. Atsana?" I mumbled, deep in the throes of sleep deprivation. "Um. Name her? I haven't thought of a name yet."
Aster grinned at my incoherence.
"That's what Rudy always called our girls when they were little. He says it was his mother's pet name for her little wolf girls."

Freya - Chapter 6

"What shall we do for your birthday party, baby love?"
Cinny grinned and leaned close to whisper in my ear.
"Fairy party, mama!"

Freya - Chapter 5

I couldn't wait to start my new diving adventure. First, of course, I had to prep myself. I'd discovered a new kind of bean in my little roof top garden that gave me more energy that even buzzweed. 'Coffee'. That's what Silvanus said it was. He recommended brewing it, but I hadn't a clue as to how to go about doing that, so I just ate it raw. It was a tad bitter, but the buzz was totally worth it.

Freya - Chapter 4

Sooo. Yeah. It turned out Jaxon wasn't real happy that I had called out Silvanus' name in the heat of our, err, semi-passion in the hot spring. It had always agitated him whenever I mentioned my poor trapped friend, but now it was even worse.
"Your Silvanus isn't real, Freya. You're just imagining things. You've always had a vivid imagination, but this has gone too far. You have to stop!"

Freya - Chapter 3

When Silvanus said I needed to widen my search for the antidote to his curse, I was so excited. He wanted me to find a shipwreck! Supposedly, the witch that had cursed him fled on a ship that when down off the coast in a great storm. The witch himself escaped and was never seen again, but perhaps there would be clues to the curse on the ocean floor. So yes, I was excited!

Freya - Chapter 2

I hid in the dense undergrowth, silently watching my haunted bungalow. I'd been back many times since the night I first ran in terror from the spirit, never daring to venture closer than the edge of the property, hoping that this time the deep rumbling voice would be silent.
"Come closer, girl. Don't be afraid."
My heart pounding, I turned to run again. But I'd be back. Tomorrow the full moon would give me strength; I'd confront him then.
